How it works

Infrastructure

Sherwood is the intelligence and orchestration layer. Regulated infrastructure partners hold funds and move money; Sherwood decides how, when and through which route.

Sherwood Intelligence

Our layer

  • Treasury Agent monitors balances, obligations and FX exposure continuously
  • Funding and conversion recommendations with quantified savings
  • Policy, limit and approval enforcement before anything executes

Sherwood Platform

Our layer

  • Multi-entity, multi-currency account structure
  • Mass payment orchestration, validation and retry logic
  • Reconciliation, audit trail and reporting

Banking-as-a-Service (Keel)

Regulated partner

  • Regulated account issuance and safeguarding
  • Compliance, screening and KYB infrastructure
  • FX execution with institutional liquidity providers

Local payment networks

Global rails

  • Domestic ACH, SEPA, Faster Payments, PIX, UPI and more
  • SWIFT for wire settlement where local rails are unavailable
  • 180+ countries, 40+ settlement currencies

A single payment, end to end

What happens when a payroll batch is released

  1. 01

Batch uploaded or synced from your HR system

  2. 02

Sherwood validates beneficiaries, currencies and policy limits

  3. 03

Treasury Agent proposes the cheapest funding and FX route

  4. 04

CFO approves; Keel executes conversion and settlement

  5. 05

Local rails deliver funds; Sherwood reconciles and reports

Regulation and safeguarding

Sherwood is not a bank

Client funds are held in safeguarded accounts by regulated banking partners, never by Sherwood. Sherwood provides the software layer: account orchestration, payment initiation, treasury intelligence and controls. This separation keeps funds protected while allowing Sherwood to add intelligence above the rails.

Illustrative demonstration environment. All balances, payments, rates and savings shown in Sherwood are simulated.
